Marijuana Creates Criminals!!!

    In the article "Marijuana law just creates criminals. "By Hakeem Jerries reveals that more than 50,000 people in 2011 were arrested in New York City for possesing small amounts of marijuana. A majority of these arrest happen only in certain neighborhoods. Marijuana is now a public view. Most people selling marijuana is black an Lantino.

  My opinion is if more people start to have larger or smaller amounts of marijuana they sould get arrested. But the government or should I say the police might not have time to be going back and forth to arrest people who have posession of marijuana. Police need to stay focused on other emergencies that are happening around the world.

   If police continue to worry about arresting people why carry marijuana then other people could be out getting killed and the killer can be getting away. On the other hand if people are not getting arrested for having marijuana then if they get high or being intoxicated in public then even more people will be getting hurt and killed.

Hugh Hefner marries playboy bunny!!??

   In the article Hugh Hefner , Crystal Harris engaged again: Playboy honcho, 86, set to wed 26-year-old ex on New Year's Eve by Cristina Everett Hugh Hefner gets married to his ex Crystal Harris. The 86-year-old Playboy tycoon is once again engaged to 26-year-old Crystal Harris, his ex-fiancee who famously called off the couple’s June 2011 wedding just five days prior to the scheduled big day, according to TMZ.

  The two couple said "I do" in front of 300 guest at a gathering full of family and friends.  When Hefner and Crystal had first split up Crystal says that it taught her "how to be independent and stand on her own feet." Later on once Crystal moved back into the Playboy Mansion she has gotten closer to Hefner and now they are married.

  What if Crystal could be marrying Hefner for his millions , it could be possible but it could be love at first sight or second for Hefner.

  Hugh Hefner is the main man in the Playboy mansion (of course) but honestly it's time for him to retire. Hefner has been in that mansion for years and there has been bunnies in and  out of the house. But he marries someone who is way younger than hom and even though it's legal it shouldn't be done. I think that Hefner could be a good man but shouldn't be dating women that's like 30 or more years younger than him. Dating a older person only a couple years could help you in life. Like having money for something or extra help with something.

Could this marriage be a good decision.

16 AND DRIVING?!?!?!

   In the article Should 16-year-olds drive? By Ted Gregory he explains why teens that are 16 year old really shouldn't drive. He reports that raising age would save lives but some people think that the age 16 really wouldn't be a problem. A Hinsdale Central High School sophomore said  Monday before hitting the road for her driver's education class, "I don't think it matters what age you are, as long as you have the practice and experience." on the other hand some people do think that the age 16 would be a good decision , Lund said, "were're still losing a lot of teens in the road each year, motor vehicle crashes kill more than 5,000 teenagers a year."

      "This is kind of the next logical step," Lund said of the insurance institute's push to raise the minimum age. "Do these teens need to be driving as early as we are allowing them to drive." If people are saying that teens the age of 16 should not be driving then that's a good thing. It's teens out in the world who probably are driving now and in the snap of a finger the could be killed. My honest opinion is if teens are driving at the age of 16 then this means that they could be using the car for no good reason. For example if a 16 year old went to a party and drove their by their self then that means if the teen gets drunk and doesn't have an designated driver to get back home then that teen will be killed because she/he will be driving drunk.  

       For teens they make think that having a car could make them cool or just having a car just to show it off. Just because a teen past their driving test doesn't means that they could prevent themselves from getting on a car accident. Their are many other reason for teens to get in car accidents. Drinking and driving , not paying attention, and the latest one texting. If parents really wanted tier teens to be safe then they would wait a certain age to give their teen a car. I think that they age for a car should be 18-19. But people do have public transportation now (Septa) and it is less expensive than paying for a car or paying insurance from a your teen getting in a car accident.

Taking Drugs Is A Good Decision!?!?

   In the article A ‘Party Drug’ May Help the Brain Cope With Trauma by Benedict Carey people are studying about if the party drug that surfaced in the 1980s and ’90s that can increased pulses of euphoria and a radiating affection. Back then and now the government made the drug criminalized. Meaning if someone was caught smoking or just taking the drug anyway then they will be arrtested. The only reason why people are searching this drug to see if it's safe to use as medicine or anything else to help cure.In hundreds Iraq and Afghanistan veterans who are not only stressed but could be reallt hurt are looking for sothing to help.

   In the article A "Party Drug" May Help the Brain Cope With Trama" it seems obvious that one it is about a party drug and that two it's being involed with somthing in your body. Usually people would say "Say NO To Drugs" or "You Shouldn't drink this ir smoke that." I think if taking drugs was the case then I wouldn't take. Specially if you already have a nice and healthy body. If the party drug does take care of and brain cope with trama then I would widh the luck of many people.

   You never know what would happen if people were taking drugs as medicine to help cure their problems it could cause death like party drugs does now. Or even worse, I think that studies should find another solution to cure Irag and Afganisatan veterans.

   In the article Yay! Boo! So? Reactions to Obama win vary by Peter Mucha people agreed and diagreed on Obama's win on being re-elected as President on November 6th, 2012. As some people celebrated and even cried due to Obama's win on the other hand Romney's voters wasn't happy at all about Obama's win. From the article one of Romney's voters Chuck Rihl ,51 of Hadden Heights said "I'm not happy, I haven't had a job in over a year." Another voter said that she is worried about Obamacare , her stocks and other issues.

  I think that it was a good decision that Obama was re-elected as President. Only thing is I didn't quite understand what went on when Romney and Obama was having the debate but I did watch it. What I'm saying is if I barely understood what was going on during the debate how could I be happy about Obamo winning? What if he was having some suggestions that I thought were wrong or not quite right? I shouldn't be happy that he is re-elected President because he is African-American that's not a smart reason. 

   This is why teens around my age might be happy that Obama is President, just because he is African-American that maybe the reason teens around my age aren't allowed to vote. I have watched the debate between Romney and Obama and did hear some good and wrong answers from Obama.

 The reason I didn't like any of Romney's answers and the reason he may not have been elected President was for families who need extra help and get food stamps Romney said he would take the food stamps away. Another reason for Romney not  being elected was he was going to take away plan parenthood. Where women weren't able to have abortions or birth control pills. Women would have to stick to the baby and raise them theirselves.

  Lastly, all I have to say is was this a REALLY GOOD decision that America has choosen? Or was it a mistake for America?

Mother Nature Takes Over

       October 31,2012 article "Will Climate Change Get Some Respect Now?" By Nicholas D. Kristof, Columnist, The New York Times it could be true that Mother Nature and her children ( The Storms ) could be starting to take over.After Hurricane Sandy it's said that there could be even worse storms. Gov. Andrew Cuomo of the New York says he told President Obama the other day that it seems"we have a 100-year flood every two years now." The NY Times has reported that three of the 10 biggest floods in Lower Manhattan since 1900 have occurred in the last three years.

        A NASA Climate Scientist , James E. Hansen says " For the extreme hot weather of the recent past, there is virtually no explanation other than climate change."

     If weather was to get worst there could be rain and more flooding since climate changes add moisture to the atmosphere , rising seas create higher normal sea height for future storm urges. Reasons like this could cause a lot of damage if storms like this do happen. Storms could cause important things to be pushed back such as voting, important school programs or something could be happening at adults' job.

     My honest opinion is that maybe it could be the people on Earth causing the climate to change. It could be pollution, littering and people just not taking care of the Earth. If a climate change was to struck Earth right now and destroy it people would cry and be sad because they lost their homes, jobs places they really care about. Only thing is if people were causing the Earth to have this climate change then why not start changing now.

This article kind of reminds me of the movie 2012. Strange how all these storms and other destructions are happening in 2012.

Could this be people causing this problem of climate change?
Or could it just be regular mother nature causing this climate change?

Disorder or Not!!!!!

    In the article "Attention Disorder or Not ,Pills to help School" By Alan Schwarz Dr. Micheal Anderson hears about his low-income patients struggling in elementary school ,he usually gives them a taste of some powerful medicine called: Adderall. Since parents are starting to get low-income Dr. Micheal Anderson tries to get the medicine Adderall in schools that way students who have ADHD are able to take Adderall."I don't have a whole lot of choice," said Dr.Anderson, a pediatrician for many poor families in Cherokee Country, North Atlanta. This medicine Adderall helps ADHD childeren or teens boost focus and impulse control in children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. 

  What if people in school who didn't need Adderall were taking it just to boost their focus? Students in school need this pill because if parent were having a low-income and their child or children needed Adderall then doctors will try to have the medicine put in schools. Only problem is students can lie and say that they need Adderall just to boost their focus and try to pass a class that they are failing. For example a story from a family a child named Quintn says he was given Adderall "To help me focus on my school work, my homework, listeining to my Mom and Dad,doing what I used to do to my teachers to make them mad," he said. He described his week in the hosipital and the effects: "If I don't take my medicine I'd be having attitudes. I'd be disrespecting my parents . I wouldn't be like this."

Adderall could have side affects. What if this isn't the right choice for having this medicine in school? What if parents don't approve?

Poor Night Sleep

     In the article "Using iPads before bed' can lead to a poor night's sleep" posted by Daily New Article researchers say that using tablet computers like Apple's iPad and Samsung's Galaxy note just before bed can lead to a poor night sleep. This may seem weird but there is a certain light from the devices that cause anyone who uses the devices before they go to bed then you will have a poor night sleep. This is because more and more people are (using) their tablets...to surf the web, check Facebook, Twitter and other social networks, before switching the light of to go to sleep. But researchers are warning that the blueish light from the devices. This light mimics daylight convicing the brain that it's daytime.

  But any light can make anyone hard to sleep. Especially if it's a very bright light, the brighter the light and longer the exposure, the more difficulty it will cause in falling asleep. Neurologists have known for years that staring at screens late in the evening can disrupt sleep be they television screens, computer screens or mobile phone screens. However , because cell phones, laptops and tablets are portable now people take them to their bedrooms when it's time to go to bed and stay up all night on their device. When the person gets into the  bedroom with the light off then have thier cell phones , laptops or tablets the light is the only bright light in the dark room , this means it would be harder to go to sleep.


   Researchers at the Lighting Research Center, at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York, are warning that looking at tablet displays for more than two hours “leads to a suppression of our natural melatonin levels as the devices emit optical radiation at short wavelengths” – in other words, they emit bluer light.They say: “Although turning off devices at night is the ultimate solution, it is recommended that if these devices are used at night displays are dimmed as much as possible and that the time spent on them before bed should be limited.”

Does this mean that iPod, iPad , laptop or tablet companies will stop making their devices?
Or will companies make the light on the devices much lower?

New Generation of Texting

        In the article called "Texting May Be Taking a Toll by Katie Hafner new generation of texting has changed since 2008. Texting for American teenagers has doubled every year. The reason may be because new phones such as iPhone , Smart Phones, Galaxies and other new phones. This may be the reason because with new technology you can do all different types of things now with your phone now. Teenagers probably text about 2,272 text messages a month. Meaning that they are texting almost about 100 messages a day. Including weekdays, weekdays where teenagers have school. So that means that teens keep thier phones on vibrate and keep it next to them and wait for it to light up or to feel the vibration of the phone. In the article a pediatrician in Greenbae,California Dr.Martin Joffe quotes "Then you hear that these kids are responding to texts late at night. That's going to cause sleep issues in an age group that's already plagued with sleep issues."

        Having sleep issues is a big problem. Without sleep you can mess up in school and drop grades really fast just by texting late at night. Speaking of issues texting can cause another issue, such as musculoskeletal disorders too much texting could lead to temporary or permanent damage to thumbs.

       Also, the generation of texting goes to school. Most schools still have students keep thier phones but now schools may be collecting phones from students until the end of the school day. Some students but thier jackets and bookbags on the desk and pretend thier doing something else school related but thier really texting. My opinion is that phones should be collected during the school day. If students do try to keep thier phones then it will all ready get taken if it rings in class or anything. Instead of trying to keep the phone and getting it taken just turn it in and wait 8 hours to get it back.

     Texting can't be that important in life.

More Students Cheating

         When 'Studies Find More Students Cheating, With High Achivers No Exceptions" NYTimes Richard Perez-Pena examines what the real situation is about when it comes to more students cheating. Most cheating has increased in the most competitive schools. Some are high schools and even college. It is proven that most of the high achievers are the ones who are doing the most cheating. Experts say the reason are simple, cheating has become easier and more widely tolerated and maybe because parents don't tell thier children right from wrong. Donald L. McCabe a professer at the Rutgers University Buisness School ,and a leading researcher on cheating says " I don't think there's any questions that students have become more competive,under more pressure,and,as a result ,tend to excuse more from themselves and other students, and that's allowed by the adults around them.

     "There always have been struggling student cheating to survive,' he said. But more abd more,there are students at the top who cheat to survive. Another way it is easy for students cheat is technology. Internet access has made cheating a lot more easier. Due to cell phones , IPods , Or the old fashioned way the computer. Where people plagiarized for doing research, writing reports, or even essay.

       Some professers think that take home test should be the last thing that students do at home. If they are already cheating why should they be allowed to have a take home test were the can thier computers or smartphones to cheat. My honest opinion is I think maybe parents should be paying more attention to what high schoolers do when they get home such as checking for homework, asking about test. If the student do have test then the parent should study with them to make sure they do do thier work. For college students I think thier should be more professer in the classrooms most likely for exams.
